On Tuesday 6th of August members of Bangor and North Down Camera Club assembled along with invited guest Mr Alex Easton MP . The club president Ray Magill welcomed Alex Easton who thanked the members for inviting him and congratulated the club for the excellence of the work on display, noting that many of the images had been successful in competition. Once again The Carnegie Library Hamilton Road Bangor BT20 4LH is the venue where the excellent work of the club will be on display during the month of August.
This event marks the finale of the clubs formal activities before the commencement of the new 2024 /2025 season next month.
Many thanks to the exhibition secretary and a team of volunteers involved in setting up the display .
The club wishes to thank the management and staff of the library for their continuing support and assistance in the staging of this event .
The work displayed encompassing both colour and mono prints, showcases the breadth of talent and diverse image making as evident in many aspects and genres such as landscape, portraiture, street, travel , architecture ,abstract still life, animal and wildlife photography.
In bringing this exhibition to public attention the club hopes to kindle interest in a challenging and rewarding pursuit and to this end will welcome new or rejoining members to their premises at 100 Ward Avenue Bangor during the formal season from September to May. The club meets formally at 8pm on Friday evenings and in addition throughout the year informal meetings are held at 8pm on Wednesday evenings where practical workshops sessions, discussion and advice is provided in a friendly and easygoing manner. Those who may be interested are welcome to visit on any of the above mentioned days to discover more of the clubs activities in the arts and science of photography . The club secretary Hazel Newell (bndcc.secretary@gmail.com) is available to consider prospective members enquiries and direct them to other club officers who can offer assistance on how to become a member.
Those with photographic experience are also welcomed to join the club to develop their skills in the company of like minded and dedicated practitioners .
